Our Makeup Artist's Wedding!

Yes, it’s true: I did my OWN makeup for my wedding. With that being said, it should be no surprise that April did my hair.

My wedding day look was exactly how the D+A Bridal philosophy is: “you, but elevated.” I felt like the best version of me, and like my hair and makeup reflected that perfectly.

The wedding was in Paso Robles, California at a private ranch. I’d say the vibe was "disco, western, Dolly Parton, boho” which was a lot going on. One thing I learned though, is that if you choose everything that is the most YOU, it will all fall into place beautifully.

If you’ve read our bio, you know that we are ALL about our brides feeling like the most beautiful version of themselves.

We often hear curly haired girls say that they wonder if they should even get their hair done… They say that they always wear their hair natural, so what could possibly be done?

Meet our gorgeous client, Helene. Her curls are what fairy tales are made of…

April will typically start out with curly hair by diffusing it- this allows her to use the right products that will enhance the curls on their own.

The trick after this, is to use the right sized wand on any of the pieces of hair that aren’t curling as perfectly as others. The result is a super natural look!

For Helene’s makeup, we went for rose gold tones, with bright, soft, sparkles on the eye lid. Desiree couldn’t help but to notice her love of rose gold accessories, so we had to incorporate that into her look!

Never want to use hot tools on your curly hair? No biggie, we can still give you an amazing updo, whether all up, or half up like this one shown on Helene’s sister.

Our main goal is to have everyone feel AND look their best!

With such a big bridal party, we hear brides worry about having everyone look cohesive, but still stay true to their personal styles. This party had a variety of hair types, and even though everyone’s hair is different, the looks all compliment each girl’s dress and personality!

We love how magical this all-white dress bridal party looks.

We are all about capturing bridesmaids’ individual styles while working with different hair types and skin types. We love that some bridesmaids went a little more glam, while others were more soft and natural.

Desiree and April are truly the dynamic duo. I was so pleased with the service they provided for my wedding. They are efficient, yet still provide great quality.
I have very curly hair and was having a challenge finding/trusting someone who could work with my hair in its natural state. April was not only able to work with it, but she was able to elevate and enhance it, which was so refreshing as in my experience that is really rare.
I, along with 8 other bridesmaids, got both hair and makeup done. The group ranged from people who wear makeup/style their hair daily to those who never do. They were even able to fit my mom in at the last second! (As an aside, my mom was hesitant to do any hair and makeup because she has had bad experiences in the past with other makeup/hair making her look older than she is, but after she saw everyone else’s final looks she went for it and she looked so great- subtle, yet elevated.)
They are so fun to be around and fit right in with the wedding party. What impressed me the most was their ability to listen to what each person wanted and execute it. They are also perceptive and provide helpful suggestions: Desiree noticed that I wear a lot of rose gold and suggested that we incorporate that into my look, which ended up fitting perfectly into my vision. They are also gracious with feedback and will happily make adjustments until you are happy with your look. Everyone looked so great without that overly-done and stiff appearance and the makeup stays on alllll day and night! So impressive.
I wouldn’t hesitate to book them again for any event in which I find myself needing hair and makeup!”
